Hilary is an Irish artist who grew up on the shores of Lough Corrib in Connemara in County Galway and now lives with her family in County Wicklow.

She specialises in abstract landscapes and representations of the scenery of her native West of Ireland. Hilary’s use of colour in her paintings evokes the bogs and lakes of Connemara and the beautiful coastline of the West.

Hilary has developed a distinctive style with her use of bold paint strokes and textured layering of paint on the canvas. This has evolved from the preferred use of palette knives in her work. This technique along with her use of colour, creates a fluidity in her pieces and her own unique and popular style.

Garnering recognition for her prowess, she has been commissioned for numerous large-scale abstract paintings, both domestic and commercial.

A selection of Hilary’s paintings can be found in the Wilton Gallery, Glasthule, Co. Dublin, as well as the Whitethorn Gallery, Clifden, Co.Galway.
